Not sure about the Stowaway but I do know the Freedom Universal Keyboard works. Is your application permission for the driver set to "Allow" for keystroke injection?

It's possible that it's just not compatible. Did you check Stowaway for an updated driver?

Default Checked

I've checked in the web and nothing says if its compatible or not.
But I'm assuming that 4.5 is still beta (no oficial) and as you presumes, I'm 70% sure than not work 4.5 neither 4.3...

I'm still waiting to online support answer my question. But I fear that they will not update the driver for 4.5...

we will see waht the says me..

thanks anyway.

I am interested in this as well. Please post any positive results. My mom can't use the standard 8800 keyboard very well (she is 80), and although the e-mail is a lot cleaner and easier to read with 4.5, the lack of external full size keyboard support makes it a no-go.

It won't work with my 4.5 beta 8320, either, but that is only a minor annoyance, not a deal-breaker.

Since there are some 4.5's officially released, albeit in Denmark, I put in a request at I-Go customer service. Awaiting response.

Unfortunately we will not have any upgrades for your device. Since the keyboards have been discontinued there will be no more further development for the keyboards.

Too bad about the Shasta keyboards. I have a Freedom Universal Keyboard that works with OS 4.5.

Has anyone had success with any external keyboards and an 8800 running 4.5 yet?

If it works on an 8320 with 4.5 it will work on an 8800 with 4.5. The differences are OS specific, not necessarily model specific.

One thing I didn't mention here is that if Docs To Go is NOT installed many 3rd party apps will give java errors. Install Docs To Go and see if the error persists.

Again my Freedom is working great.

I get the "Uncaught exception: layout requested layout" on my 8100 running 4.5.0.55 not only when I try to access the Stowaway application (which worked fine on 4.2) but when the phone boots up. I'd like to try uninstalling and reinstalling the application, or just removing it entirely, but I can't find it listed under Advanced/Applications, or in the Application Loader in DM. Where can I find the .cod files or whatever to remove the application from my device? Thanks.

Hi GLOCKshooter,

This is Chris from Freedom. Can we help with any problem you are having with the Freedom Universal?

There is no reason why it will not work perfectly with all Blackberry models.
If you PM me your phone number, or email me (at [email address] ), we will phone you and talk you through any problems.
