i have a verizon 7130e and i download the desktop software with roxio media manager and it will not recognize the device, but the regular sync software does. i was not sure if the 7130e was even capable of using this software but if it is than how can it be recognized

There is no need for the Media Manager app with the 71xx models, as there is just no space for additional media to be installed on those models, and you have no extra Media Card on that model.
