BB 8830 OS upgrade problem
Hello to everyone,
I own a BB 8830 Verizon,i live in Croatia so CDMA doesnt work,only GSM,i would like to upgrade the OS,but i have a problem,i downloaded the Sprint OS and TELUS but i cant upgrade.When i start the upgrade it works fine,and it installs,then it asks me to start the desktop manager,i say yes,but nothing happens,so i start the aplication loader,but still notshing,i deleted the vendor file...Version of desktop manager is 4.3,i installed the new Verizon OS with no problem but ohers doesnt work...
Delete the Vendor.xml file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
...i deleted the vendor file...
Remove Desktop Manager (DM) 4.3 and install Desktop Manager v4.2, SP 2. See if that helps.
- remove DM 4.3
- load DM 4.2
- reinstall the Handheld OS for the 8830
- Remove vendor.xml (again)
- Restart Desktop Manager
Nope still nothing i tried firts with the 4.2 version
Update Should Prompt
I guess I'm not clear as to why you'd have to start the application loader. If you installed both the most recent version of Desktop Manager and the OS to your PC, when you start Desktop Manager you should be prompted to update your OS, and the update should be seamless. When I installed v18.104.22.168 on my 8830 I was never prompted to start the Desktop Manager. The update was automatic.
Yes,my BB Pearl is normally updated but with the 8830 is a problem,i can only update a verizon OS,very strange...
