Hi all,

After I upgraded my BB8800 to OS 4.5, I already found Google map can't work well in it. Although there are some articles mentioned some tips, I still don't like it. Not sure if it's due to OS 4.5 bug, or the application vendor need to fix that. Below are some problemed applications I found, and hope there are some experienced users can share with each other.

1. Google Map: Will died after installed and start up. Some body recommend either down grade the OS (of course it's an option, but I don't wanna do it because I enjoy the new powerful media player of OS 4.5 a lot!) or down grade the version of Google map.

2. Today, I also found Yahoo GO! 3.0 (still in Beta) can't work well, either. It's perfectly working before I upgrade to 4.5. There is no problem during the installation and start up, but will not allow you to choose any function correctly (like map, news, flickr,..etc).

3. The empower HTML application can't work well, either. Sometimes you will find the option can't work for some emails. This is really bothering me since I need to add some emails into my tasks. This force me to remove the empower HTML right now, but cause inconvience to me.

4. Jive Talk. This should be easy to resolve. Just install Documents To Go, and everything will be fine, although I don't know why....

I installed 4.5 over a week ago on my TMO 8800 and Google Maps (v. 2.01)and BBMaps both work flawlessly. Might be a problem with your installation?

my google apps did not work correctly after I first intalled 4.5 beta for the 8830, but after doing a battery pull both Gmail and Google maps work with no issues. Maybe try the battery pull.

There is a known issue with Google Maps 2.0 and higher not working on a BB with OS 4.5 and an application control policy on their BES. It's some kind of bug and the only way to get it to work is to remove the application control policy, install Google Maps, then readd the policy. Most people aren't going to get their BES Admins to do this. Who knows when/if it will be fixed. It seems to only happen to me with Google Maps. Every other app works fine so it could be a bug in Google Maps, too.

Which policy are you referring to? I could not find a Application control policy on my BES... Am I looking in the wrong place? Any help would be greatly appreciated, screen shots would be appreciated even more

Flickr on a fresh download after a complete wipe on 4.5.0.66 sends photos to Flickr, but the indicator in the app gives a red x. The photos, however, show up on Flickr itself.

Searched and searched and can't find much on it so far.
