Default device sometimes locks on pulling from holster

Please Login to Remove!

My dad has an 8830, the settings from what I can see aren't set to lock the device upon removal from the holster, yet "sometimes" it locks on removal.

At first we thought he might be hitting a button, and thus locking it, accidentally upon removal, but we aren't aware of any buttons that will do this etc.

Any input?

Go to Options>Security and see if the device is set to auto lock after a certain time. I think 1 hour is the max time you can select for the unit to remain unlocked.

Wirelessly posted (8310; The Juggernaut)

Make sure he is inserting it in the holster facing inwards toward the belt.

Thanks. Actually that's how I holster mine, and he thought that might be the difference; but out of curiosity how's which way it's facing make the difference?

Thanks

Some holsters just work better with the BB device facing in, a piece of leather or whatever might be catching a key which is locking the device on placig it in or removal.
