My blackberry fell into the toilet last night. I pulled it out right away, and dried it off. I pulled the battery out and left it out for a while. I put it back in last night and the keyboard was malfunctioning so I took it out and put the phone and battery in rice.

The white square on my phone stayed white and my battery looks fine. I tried the keyboard today for a few minutes and it appeared to be working fine.

I was just really worried so I wanted to check. I will keep it in the rice and not touch it for a few more days.

What are the chances my phone is going to be okay? Will the water damage make it act up again in the future? Meaning will it work okay for a week or so then all of a sudden die? I know none of you are fortune tellers I guess I am just looking for success stories with water damage.

I have revived one from a toilet fall, and it still works today. Give it 4-5 days with NO battery insertion or plugging it in. Place the BB in the rice on top of a heat-emitting electronic device, such as a TV, cable TV box, etc.

You have a better than 50/50 chance IF you give it time.

You've done all the right things with exception of "trying" it to see if it's ok. However, it sounds like it's ok so you're most likely going to be fine. Give it a few days and I'd be optimistic. I'm surprised the water indicator is still white, though.

Surprised in a good way or bad way? (I am asking because it would appear as though if it is still white it is a good thing...but since I did drop it in a toilet where it got wet I am not sure if it is a good thing.) When I pulled it out of the toilet and opened up the back there was no water (that I could see) in that area.

Maybe water just missed the region with indicator?
