So I have the beta OS 4.5.0.42 on my BB 8800. I want to downgrade and go back to 4.5.0.37 (official release). I have downloaded and installed Desktop Manager 4.5 and installed the proper OS (4.5.0.37). I have also deleted the vender id file as instructed. When I plug in my BB, I can’t figure out how to go install the older OS. Can someone help?

You need to uninstall the newer version of the os in the control panel of your pc.
