Default 2 Questions on the 8830

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

If someone could help me out with 2 things on my 8830:

First, can I lock the keyboard without choosing the "Keyboard Lock" icon? Is there buttons I press to activate it?

Also, if I set custom ringtones for contacts, can I make a profile for example so that when I am at work, it just has a standard ring instead of my custom ringtones. Can I set the phone to do that?

Thank You

Press Alt-Enter. Alt is on the left side, Enter is on the right. To unlock, it provides instructions - *-Phonekey, that is the Asterisk Key and the GREEN phone key.

I have not played with custom ring tones.

You can set your side convenience key to lock.

Yes, you can create custom profiles for whatever your need... but you need to make sure your custom ringtone does not override the custom profile.

That will also bring up Alternate Language Inputs... so make sure that is turned off at Options > Languages, or else you might get some weird text input.

1) To Lock, Press "K"
2) Several ring options you can use.

You must have Homescreen Dialing disabled for that work. Pressing "K" otherwise will start to dial the phone.
