Default Micro SD cards

I have been looking at amazon.com and there are a lot of reasonably priced cards but reading the reviews it doesnt appear all are compatible with blackberrys. What cards/type of cards is everyone else using?

Any card labeled "MicroSD" or MicroSDHC" will work depending on the OS version on your BB.

OS 4.2.1 will take up to a 4GB card.

OS 4.5 will take up to 8GB. I currently have a Sandisk MicroSDHC 8GB and a Sandisk Ultra MicroSDHC 8GB card for the 8800 with OS 4.5

Actually, OS 4,5 will. Take up to whatever you can buy. It'll do 12 and 16 when they become available.

Speaking of storage, what praytell are you using 8 gigs for? Do you use your BB in lieu of an iPod? I can't imagine doing/wanting to do that in general, definitely not with the battery life or the functionality of the MP.

I'd like to use it as a USB device... So I can sync my work docs on my laptop and my office PC... any one used it for this? any one know of any software that would allow me to do this?

Yes your device will function as a thumb drive/jump drive. You can simply enable mass storage mode under options > media card and it will act exactly as any other usb hard drive. Welcome to the forums

I just wrote a "how to" on automatically syncing folders/files when you plug in your BB to the PC. Is that what you're looking for?

How To: AutoSync Folders & Files Between PC and Media Card

Well, that is my goal so that my RIM appears as a USB device to my laptop and PC.

However... Saddly my adventure today which included an BB OS upgrade to 4.5.0.37 was and is a MASSIVE Failure... half of the features on my rim don't work.

I have a BB8800 from Rogers in Canada. How do I go about finding the latest release so I can see if there are some bug fixes that I've clearly missed as at this momment my rim is non-functional.

I have 4gb in mine. I do have about 15 short videos and 300 MP3 files on it, but I also use it to transfer files back & forth from home to work.

I don't have any software to do it, I just create a directory called "transfer" on the card, underneath the BlackBerry directory, and just copy what I need to it manually.
