Hello All,

I'm asking this for my father who has an 8800.

I was trying to show him how to use the Voice Dialing feature on his 8800 (I have a curve). When we press the Voice Dialing icon, the screen reads, "Initializing, Please Wait". Instead of a voice prompt saying, "Say a Command", we are returned to the main icon menu.

I did the following to correct the situation, but no luck:

1. Did a search on this forum for a solution.
2. Removed and reinstalled the battery.
3. Checked the Options/Voice Command Menu. Everything is good there.

Any thoughts on what might be going on, and how I can correct it?

I've had the same problem when using a Bluetooth headset.

Oh,

I should add that I deselected BlueTooth, as I thought that might be a problem. No success there either.

Is it a universal occurrence, or intermittent? My 8830 will do that sometimes, typically the 1st time that I try it after the device has been shut down.
