Default Modifying / deleting browser bookmarks on 7100t

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to edit and delete the boomarks that come in the 7100t. I don't like the ones included with the 7100t and want to populate the bookmarks with *my own*, not the ones T-Mobile wants me to have :(

Any ideas?

Regards

My bookmarks are shown under "Blackberry Bookmarks" at the bottom of the list. I have not found any way to delete the pre-supplied bookmarks. Maybe someone else has had better luck deleting them.

My bookmarks also show there and I can delete the ones I created. Just wish there was a way to delete them all and replace the list with my *own* ones. Maybe someone will find a way to hack the bookmark links 8)

Default Just how many does it remove? :-)

Bratag:

Thanks for the reply. Does it remove a considerable amount (so its worth the effort) or just one or two?

Regards

I just tried installing and removing it. Nothing changed for me.

Is it possible you did something else to your 7100t that removed those.

Thanks,
Brett

Yea seems like they are built into one of the browser modules... no easy way to remove them.

I actually contacted RIM directly and after talking with them for a few minutes they informed they are hard written into the ROM and CANNOT be removed at all.

What a shame! Why should T-Mobile decide what my lonks are supposed to be rather than let the user (thats me!) make the decision as to what I want to store in my bookmarks. Not even Danger and T-Mo (who control *everything* on the Sidekick) did that..

Any possibility of being able to flash the unit in the future with the ROM image of a generic version of the 7100 (if / when it becomes available)?

Regards

Default probably not in ROM

A hex dump of a backup file shows that the bookmarks are backed up with the rest of the data on the phone. This suggests that they are file-based, not ROM based. It looks like it would be possible to alter the backup file, then reload it with the new bookmarks.
