Default Spell Check - don't have - any way to get?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a 8800 on Rogers in Canada and don't have spellcheck on mine, but other 8800's do. Is there an update or add on I can do to get spell check?

Thanks

OS 4.5 which i believe is available to you (check the 8800 forum for the stickies at the top) will give you spell check for free.

Here you go, follow this post and you will be good to go with spellcheck and several other enhancements that 4.5 brings.

I type in French and English and I have never come across spell-checking on the bb. Are we talking about a real spell-checker of that list of auto-correct words? The latter is bad, especially when it mistaked French for English and auto-corrects wrongly.

I will look at the latest OS threads but if anyone has experience of writing both French and English (and some German) on a BB and can recommend a particular setup, I would be really grateful.

Tank you.

Chris

Spell-Check is set to one language at a time, and is not "smart" to auto-recognize the language, like in Word on your desktop.

Switching spell-check lanuguages is long. So I have mine set up on English (a large number of the messages I write), and check the old fahsioned way my texts in French.

You can also "add to dictionary" words that you use very frequently.
