Hi,

I recently got external amplification and speakers that work fine with an Ipod. I have tried to connect my 8800 to the same but the sound comes out only through the Blackberry speakers. I am using a standard jack with a 2.5 adapter so it fits the 8800's headphones out. The headphones work, but using the out for external audio does not. I tried it with other external devices: same result.

Am I deluded in thinking the headphone socket should act as an audio out? Is my 8800 damged (doubt it as the headphones work fine) or is there something I don't understand, as usual?

By the way, I also tried a bluetooth receiver paired to the bb and which works with all other audio streamers with Bluetooth. Paired fine, I played the music and again it only comes out on the bb's speaker. Would I fare better withe the Blackberry remote streo gateway (any good?) or do you think I am having a general problem with Bluetooth (in truth, I never managed to pair the 8800 to my laptop, for example).
