24 hours ago, I accidentally had few drops of water falling on the keyboard of my 8820... I immediately took out the battery and put it on top of my modem.

Do you think I can put the battery back in? It doesn't seem to be water anymore...

It's very risky. If you want to ensure that you don't ruin the device then I would give it a few days. A hot car dash will accelerate the process. A few hours on a hot day does wonders.

I know it's so tempting and it was only a small amount of water but why take chances with an expensive handheld?

I also was a bit worried because the screen of the BB got VERY hot...

Sparkling water would not make a difference. I am concerned that the device was on long enough for the screen to get hot.... I thought you yanked the battery right away? If it's hot from being on the modem that should not be an issue.

No, the screen got very hot for the standing on top of the modem... Is it OK? Could this cause any issue?

You should be ok, then. We DO NOT recommend a microwave, although one modersator here might say it works. No names will be mentioned.
