Please Login to Remove!

I want to purchase a 8700 from one my friend but its locked to Vodafone (Hutch). But i have Airtel and want to retain the same number? Please suggest the options.

If i download OEM Airtel BB package from, and install it on the bb, would it unlock the handset.

Thanks in advance.

You should ask Vodafone to unlock the handset, or provide you with unlock codes. I had a similar situation except I was switching from AIrtel to Vodafone. What I did was call up airtel and tell them that I was going out of india and needed to use a foreign SIM andhence requested that my handset be unlocked. They finally sent me a mail with the codes - however please be warned that they took about a week to get back to me.
