Hi just fell in here a little while ago.... have a question... I was trying to activate my 7100i and it threw the jvm 102 code...dude at nextel said to take phone to a service center and they would give me a new one...is this true..the phone is old and I told him that....still he said take it and get it replaced...is there a catch?
if it is out of warranty, I think that that is doubtful, but perhaps you got that individuals name, etc., and will let the service center know that he promised it .

If you have the Nextel insurance, I have had times where they replaced my old, outdated device with the "medern day" equivalent of it, so you may luck out in this aspect. As JS said, I hope you may have gotten the name and extension of the CSR that told you this.
