Default Slow sync with Desktop Manager v4.5???

Please Login to Remove!

So I just "upgraded" to Desktop Manager v4.5 -- it seems fine and it takes an inordinately long time to sync -- it goes through each contact and calendar item S-U-P-E-R-S-L-O-W-L-Y.

Anybody else experience this? Anything I can do to fix it? Thanks!

Already been reported. Not sure why it takes so long.

Weird. Oh well, it's gonna be too much of a pain for me to "downgrade" to a previous version so I guess I'll just get used to it till the next version comes out. Thanks for all your help on these boards John, I hope RIM is in some way showing their appreciation to you.

I have a large number of contacts and calendar items and DM 4.5 was so painfully slow I went back to 4.3 - what a difference!!

I was wondering though...when it comes time to upgrade to OS 4.5 for my BB Curve, will I need to have the newer desktop software installed. I sync fairly often and I would hate to go back to that snail's pace.

Yeah this is proving painful indeed. How long till v4.6 comes out? If it's gonna be a while I may go back to 4.3 too

Went back to v4.3. Problem solved.

RIM should warn people about the sluggish 4.5 -- it took about 2 hours out of my life going back and forth with versions like I did.

4.6 has been out for a while, though.

I upgraded to 4.5 yesterday and have this same problem. Sync is SLLOOOWWWWW.

I checked RIM's site again and the latest version I can find is 4.5 Where can I get 4.6 and does it restore the sync speed?

ps. Shouldn't this thread be in the General forum? This problem is not specific to the 8800.
