How come I cant open attachments in emails? Majority of my emails when on the road have attachments and I cant seem to open them, I either get a message that reads something about java or if I click on the attachment I dont even get the option to try and open.

Do you have the BlackBerry Attachment Service installed on your device?

Click on Options (icon) -> Adv. Options -> Applications. Do you see the attachment service listed there?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 9000 4.6.0.67)

Are you running desktop redirector? What are the attachment types? Have you upgraded your OS recently and perhaps unchecked blackberry attachment service? Also have you tried to resend your service books.

Do attachments that arrive without getting intercepted/redirected by redirector come through OK? I thought that I had read about problems with attachments stemming from the use of redirector.

I had a similar problem before, but it seemed to be hit or miss....perhaps its the TYPE of attachment like Sith_Apprentice suggested.

I have the same issue on a BB8800. When I open an e-mail it says there is an attachment but there is no option to open it. I've had a few different blackberrys but just recently got this one and got the actual data plan so I'm still trying to figure everything out. I am not currently connected to a BES, I am only getting my home e-mail. Under Options - Advanced Options - Applications the Blackberry Attachment Service is listed there. I have Blackberry Desktop Manager V4.2.2.14 on my laptop that I use to sync only my outlook contacts and calender. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Nm.... Turns out it was an e-mail attached to an e-mail, attached to an e-mail, etc....

Sending the JPEG in new e-mail works fine. Sorry.

Whenever I get an email that is "Fwd,fwd,fwd...." I just delete it. I won't even open it or respond. And I don't just forward stuff along either. I'll create a new email and send it along. That endless forwarding really peeves me.
