Hi All-

At the expense of annoying you with my dumb questions and lack of tech savy, i was hoping to get some help with an issue I'm experiencing with a "used" blackberry 8700g I inherited.

When I power up the screen freezes at the hourglass. I have tried pulling the battery and that hasn't helped. I know there is an extensive faq but I'm not sure where to begin trouble shooting. Any suggestions? I do not know who the previous user was so, asking them questions about what happened is not an option. I greatly appreciate any ideas you are willing to offer.

Many thanks.

Ben

Sounds like a bad device, perhaps a corrupt OS. How long have you let it run with the hourglass showing?

It should boot by then. Could be a bad device. Do a search for Jl_cmder and see if you can use that to wipe and then reload the OS.

Otherwise, return it.

I'll give it a whirl. Thank-you. Unfortunately returning is not an option.
