Can someone please help me out? I have enabled the wifi connection on the 8820 and have set the browser as Wifi browser and not ewap. Yet, when I load the browser, it say "unable to connect to the internet". Why is this so?

Am I missing some settings?

did you set up a wifi network to use? do you have a data plan?

Yes, I did give the passkey and all that's necessary. Yet, the wifi is greyed out. Plus I'm registered to a limited data plan. Thus, I plan to use wifi whenever possible.

Back to the topic, the work around is as follows:
1. Set data packet in Mobile Network Options to "on"
2. Turn off the mobile network
3. Then the wifi goes black and I can browse the web through the wifi without exhausting my data plan.

Is there a way where I can command the BB to check for wireless networks first then as a last option connect to the GPRS?

Nope, apart from the work around I have discovered, there's no other way of using the wifi.

I have my browser set to Internet Browser, and under Mobile Data Options I have connection preference set to Wi-Fi Preferred. This allows me to connect to open wifi networks automatically. For example, as soon as I walk into my house, my 8820 automatically connects to my wifi router.
