Default 8707v SMS Issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everybody. New here.

I've got a big issue. I've been trying to SMS to some friends in an African country, and they are getting my SMS's, but I'm receiving 1 out of 30 of their messages. Now, I've been going all over the place with my provider (Vodafone, dutch) and they are no help.
They tell me to have my friends change providers, they did, still doesn't help.
Now, I've called Blackberry, they say it's vodafone issue.
Finally, I came to the internet, and after some reading, I've found out that it might be a software issue. A few people have had a similar problem before, and after a 4.5 software update, the problem dissappeared.

Only problem is, is that my BlackBerry is for work, and I've tryed and tryed, but they will not let me have the 4.5 version. They tell me it's still in production and that it could cause problems with our own servers because it's not correctly scripted for our services.

Does anyone know how I might be able to get around this?

Welcome to the BBForums.

While 4.5 could help you, it is not officially released.

Meanwhile, you could check to see if you do have the latest OS loaded for your 8707. Check your Options > About version, and compare to the latest OS posted here in our Sticky Notes at the top of this 8700 section, for the 8707 OS.

Thanks, but that's a problem. I can't update it without my companies say so, and they aren't letting me.
BTW, it's v4.2.1.105...

So yeah, that's why I'm trying to figure out, how can I fix this...

In my SMS setting, I can have the Data Coding as: 7bit, UUCS2, or 8bit. I currenlty have it set on 8bit.
Now, on the "Network To Send Over: I have it on PS Preferred, but I have the option for CS Preferred. I've checked with Vodafone and Blackberry and my Service Center number is correct.

I really don't want to have to leave next week and not be able to sms my people over there, you know.
