Welcome to the forums. You will need a BlackBerry data plan. This is different than a generic data plan.

Here are some links that will help clarify further:

No BB data plan = no browser on the BB.

If you have a data plan and no browser icon, go to options, advanced options, host routing table, menu and register now.

Have you created a BIS account? From the BIS you can manually push Service Books to your device as well.

Next?

I'm sorry if I don't fully understand all the terms and uses, but how do I do the above suggested? :-(

Why dont you call your carrier and have them manually push the service books to your device?

jmess5 09-03-2008 06:15 PM

Company plan, my phone. They don't want to pay the extra fees for the full blackberry service; neither do I.

True is: I have a personal Palm/PDA/Phone (Samsung I300; like very much) thru Sprint, but company gave my cheap Nextel for work (direct connect and cell). I now want to consolidate them into one (sucks having 2 phones), and what's better than having the company pay for my phone use. Hence my dilemma.

southwestcomm 09-03-2008 07:19 PM

No BlackBerry plan = no BlackBerry services. Period.

jessessayss 09-04-2008 01:29 PM

Unfortunately there is no way around that without the plan you can not have the desired service books.
