Hi folks,

I just switched jobs and now have an 8700c whereas before I had a pearl. I'm struggling a bit with the larger form factor but the bigger deal is this:

On my old unit, I had separate email message icons in the main view for my two personal accounts (I'll call them gmail and ATT) and an icon for my corporate email, and a "messages" icon that had ALL of the messages. I hid the "messages" icon and worked solely with the three account-specific mailboxes.

On my new one, I've got "messages" that has everything in it, and two separate icons for gmail and ATT, but the only apparent way to work with my corporate email is via the "Messages" icon, which is cluttered with my personal stuff too.

How can I either get it to not show personal (BIS) emails in "Messages" OR create a Corporate/BES -specific mailbox that will have just my work stuff in it?
I'm on software 4.2.1.96.

You need third party software for this.
Search for 'Empower BES Mailbox'

Third Party costs money....
Two ways to go about this is Contact your IT Dept and have them apply the SQL patch from RIM for this. Alternatively Service Pack 6 will do this on BES.

That's a bit drastic. I don't know many IT departments that would be willing to make a GLOBAL change to their BES configuration based on the request of one new user.
What you're describing will affect every user on the BES.

And where did the OP indicate that he needed a free solution?

Thanks for all the replies folks. I will check with IT to see if the patch application is already intended to be deployed, and if not, then I will buy the app that takes care of it. The discussion was useful, because it explains why my old Pearl had this feature: our IT group had done the update some time back, with big fanfare that "some things may change afterward" and little warning about what those things might be...
