Default OEM Car Charger for Blackberry 7100t

Please Login to Remove!

I have ordered and received an OEM car charger from Edge Cellular (via eBay). The listed models it "supports" are the following:

7510
7280
6510
6280

The interface fits however I am reluctant to use this charger until I can get a better feel for compatibility. Does anyone know if the above models are supported, can I safely assume the 7100t is supported?

(Yeah, I know I should have figured this out before I purchased it. ) :P

Default Hehe...that's my feeling too.

But I was hoping there might be some accessories experts on the board that knew if the voltage is the correct specification for the 7100t. It's likely that it is but if for some reason there is an issue, I don't want to deal with the hassle of getting it replaced (the 7100t is flying off the shelves at the moment so I doubt I would be able to resolve the issue quickly - especially if I void my warranty).

We you asked and I'm Here....

The ACC-047173-001 mini-USB Vehicle Chager from RIM is specified / compatible with the 7100 series.

Not any mini-USB charger will work though so stick with OEM.

We sell the OEM for 24.60.

I found a cigarette lighter to USB _and_ Firewire adapter. Now I can charge my BB and my iPod at the same time.

That's pretty amazing considering what they cost and shipping too... somebody is losing money - not you though!

Default EdgeCellular

Look up
Quote:
OEM BlackBerry charger
on eBay. Look for a merchant called EdgeCellular. I put in the minimum bid for $14.99 (Buy it now price is $17.99) and I let the auction expire. No one else bid on it so it was $14.99 plus shipping ($8.00) for me. I got it within a week.

He has several simultaneous auctions going on at the same time so you will likely find one that should expire within the next couple of hours.

Results may vary... :P

Try "Edge Cellular"

Honestly, his items are the first several that are listed when you do a string search on "OEM Charger Blackberry"

Here is one of his auctions:

Default That's why...

And if you'll notice...that's how this thread got started. It didn't specifically list the 7100 but the consensus I received from several posters here and at PDAStreet was that OEM chargers with the mini-usb interface should be fine for the 7100 series.

I've actually used it (I charged it during my commute home yesterday) and everything seems to be fine. My only concern was if the specification the charger was rated at was safe for the 7100t phone. So far so good.

Default Interesting...

What is shown there is not a car charger. It's a travel charger. I'm not sure this "Edge" guy is completely accurate when he posts his stuff on ebay.

I emailed their sales department to let them know about the misprint.

Luckily, I got a car charger. :P

Default charger

charger for other BB models is same as for 7100 - they just haven't upgraded the packages. Bought from T-mobile as they told me that - and have used for a few weeks and is working just fine.
