Nextel 7100i GMS or NOT
 
Hi I am just trying to find out wether or not the NEXTEL 7100i is gms or not?? Not really sure what that even means??IF anyone can let me know it would be great??8-)

I assume you mean GSM. No, it's not.
The 7100i is iDEN.

GSM is a wireless technology used by about 80% of the world.
In the US, AT&T and T-Mobile are the largest GSM-based carriers.

Verizon and Sprint have CDMA networks.

Nextel uses iDEN.

oh yeah thats what I meant ok thanks just saved me from buying a phone that I would not have been able to use.... I was planning on buying the CECT P168 Cell Phone but if its not compatiable with the one I have than its not worth it. I wanted to change it back to a regular Nextel but I was told I needed another sim card for that because it would not take a blackberry sim card. Now is that all of Nextel sim cards are not GSM?? Thanks for the help...
