Hi,

The "click" function on my scroll button...: I can't press it in, doesn't react, pretty much broken. Most commmands like calling I can execute with the other buttons but I can't perform a search in my emails nor can I command send for emails and texts. Is there a way to assign another button to do this function? I tried to see if the convenience buttons could be assigned but I can't even bring up the menu to check ... I would need to press in the scroll button...

I have never had that happen when I had y 8700g but I've seen this answered before...I believe that you are out of luck with reassigning to a different key, you will have to replace the trackwheel. You may want to take the device apart and see if just a cleaning or something will work too.

I am presuming that you have already tried a battery pull? If that fails then I am going to say hardware. If you are handy try replacing the trackwheel if not then you have a great excuse to go shopping for a new device!

this happened to me 4 days ago...I've been a mess! I tried looking in the manual and there does not seem to be a shortcut for sending texts or emails . I'm eligible for an upgrade with att and of course I've been waiting for the bold to come out. If i get a new BB now, att will screw me and charge me for the full price when it comes out! Whats a girl to do??? If anyone has a quick fix, please advise.

I think I might as well get the upgrade - as Thatz said it's a great excuse ; )
