Default BES Locked

I have a 8700 device on the cingular/att network. It was used on my bes at work, now I replaced it with an 8800. I gave it to my brother who can use it as a phone but cannot get email on it. He went to cingular and he said it has something to do with the bes.

Any idea what this is and how I can get this fixed? I would like for him to get a data plan and use the device.

Thanks

Jim

Probably need to remove the IT policy.

First option is asking your BES Admin to send a blank IT policy to the phone is the first solution.

For the second option, search on Remove IT Policy and/or see the FAQ and you will find this: Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ

Secure wiping the device will remove an IT policy (and all of your data too) so that might be the easiest option.

Chances are the BES admin will no longer be able to apply a policy to your brother's device if the original user (you) has already switched to another device on the same BES.

Don't think a wipe will eliminate the IT Policy, will it? I thought that just removed the data.
