I am very new to the BB world. Just wondering if there is a list (with description or picture) of message icons anywhere?

Particularly the ones with the check mark and the letters over them, beside messages.

Did you get a CD with your device? There is a full user's guide on the CD. It will tell you all that. A "D" over the checkmark means the messaged delivered to the recipient's handheld. An "R" means the recipient read the message.
