Question Confusing problem...

I have Error 507 on my Blackberry 7270. I typed an incorrect password 10 times,and it wiped the device. I have looked up how to fix this,but when I plug it in, a message pops up and says the USB device has malfunctioned. This is to be expected,since there are no applications that connect the device. But when I open Desktop Manager, it says it has no applications for the device I have plugged in. I have confirmed that Blackberry Device software v4.0 is installed on my computer. I am using Blackberry desktop Manager v3.6.
I do not have a carrier for my phone, I was using it as a PDA before this problem occured. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it, I need to know how. Am I using the right software?

Welcome to BB Forums.

Wow - a 7270 - haven;t seen one in a while.

A 507 means that there is no handheld OS on the device. Been wiped out when you typed the password wrong the 10th time.

I believe you can download the Handheld OS for the 7270 directly from the RIM BlackBerry web site at BlackBerry

Try here - https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22 - and select the 7270.

Stop Desktop Manager
Download the software
Install the software to your PC
Restart Desktop Manager

If it does not start to load the OS, then start Application Loader.

You may want to restart your PC after installing the Handheld OS to your desktop.
