Anyone have any reports on the 7290 actually shipping yet?

Things arent looking too good. People have been saying Oct 20th (tomorrow) but most estimates I keep hearing are middle november. This ticks me off because I have had one on backorder with cingular since the 5th. When it was originally posted, they had it about 5 days early with a Shipping 10/5 note. Now its still not on the site. I went into a cingular store the other day, and a rep came out all chatty and happy asking me about this and that. I dropped the bomb and asked when the 7290 would be out.. and she said I dont know, and took off quickly back to the counter. I wouldnt be so ticked off about this if they hadn't placed the thing for sale in the first place.

My Guess... by Thanksgiving.

Is this just a stock issue or is there a 911 problem like the delay that held up the release of the 77XX series of devices?

stock issue, from all known reports...

they do have test units though. we had one delivered to us for our CEO to test at his home (we have coverage issues with TMO at his home). this was through a vendor (CDW), though.

I finally got a shipping confirmation today!! Its already out the door via fedex and will be here by monday. Too bad I'll be on a business trip to boston until tuesday and wont have it until weds. Anyway, Im happy its coming now.
