After having my 7100t for almost three weeks, while checking my messages it started resetting. I have tried to reinstall the handheld software a couple of times, but it won't start the process. It has continued to reset, until now it just goes to a catastrophic error. T-Mobile will replace the 7100t, but they aren't offering any replacement yet, because of so many returns.. So now I have to wait until next week to even start the replacement process.

Can't wait for me to start blackberrying again....

Was there any description or explanation as to why there were what would appear to be a significant amount of returns? High failure rates with the devices? Form factor? Functionality not understood or disliked by the user?

Curious...

I'm also curious as to what the most common reason is for returning the 7100t. Hopefully, it's "user did not like it" and not b/c of functional issues/quality.

So far, the only issue I've had is interference noise coming from the speakerphone when data was being transmitted (a very loud noise at that) but I fixed it by removing and reinserting the battery.

I was told by a T Mobile rep that the units are in short supply because of huge demand and not because of returned units. FWIW

Well I called back again and was told that the 7100t was just not available for exchange yet. It was not beacuse of high returns or high demand. They just haven't setup the exchange on that unit yet.

BUT
Luckily my local T-mobile store rep. cares about his customers and switched out the phone for me even though it was over the 14 day return policy. So I have my new blackberry and it is working fine.

Hopefully no more problems.. After i wrote the note last night the blackberry continued to worsen until it eventually wouldn't turn on today. And it wasn't because of a dead battery.. I have never seen anythign like the breakdown my 7100t had. And I hope to never again.

Well; I had a problem with both Bluetooth quality (crackling sound with every headset I tried) and with the left side of the keypad not working. Then, the whole keypad stopped.

Going on a week and no replacement yet.
