Default 8830 PDF Software / HTTP error

Please Login to Remove!

I'm working on a mobile website that also offers pdf downloads. On the 8830 I get a HTTP error 500 when I try to click a link to a pdf; is that because it doesn't have pdf software built into the browser (only in the email)?

If so is there any way to open a pdf with a link from the browser, or will a newer blackberry let you do that?

thanks for any help!

You might need to use Opera Mini to access certain content. I know it works for some online banking sites when the Blackberry browser just gags. Give Opera Mini a shot.

Thanks, that gets me a little further. In opera I get the option to download the pdf so I could save it and then open it. It also gives me the option to open the pdf but it tries to open in the normal browser which just gives the same error.

The only reason I had installed Opera Mini was to access my Key Nank account. Once I upgraded to 4.5 I was able to sign in so that was the end of Opera for me.

I have the 8820 with AT&T. I upgraded the OS to 4.5 (came with 4.2) and I never had this issue. This may be a problem with OS 4.2, and until Verizon releases 4.5 there may be no fix. :(
