Question Very Strange Charging Issue

Please Login to Remove!

I've had my BB for quite a wihle now and love it. My only problem is that when I try to charge it using the wall charger....it seems to take FOREVER. Most of the time I leave it over night and it appears to only give it a half charge. When I get in to work I plug it into the computer and it finishes charging within an hour or so.

What gives? Why is it having problems charging from the wall?

Does the charger symbol appear on the screen of the BB when plugged to your wall charger?

You may also have a faulty charger. Have you tried another charger and had the same result? Also, have you tried more than one outlet. I really don't see this being the issue but I always try to use the process of elimination.

I had the same problem and solved it with a new charger. Another tim I was using one of the chargers with the interchangeable international prongs and the prong had separated.

Yes I do see the charging icon. I have tried 3 different chargers with the same results :(

It's very puzzling and frusterating because it would be nice to plug it in at night and have a full charge for the day when I wake up.

Make sure the outlet you are using isn't controlled by a switch that you turn off at night.

Is it your original charger? I ask because I had been using my Jamba Bluetooth charger on my BB 8830, since they both use the same USB port. However, that gave me the problem you have, an insufficient charge.

Yes, make sure they're OEM chargers. The amps can be different.

I'd say take the charger to work and try charging from work or any other location. If it still takes forever... then you know its the charger or battery.

Also ask your IT dept if they have any spare batteries and try it with a different battery.
Its basically simple deduction. Or simply call your provider and get a warranty replacement for a shiny new one!
