Default How the hell do i use my 8707v!?

Please Login to Remove!

Right, got an 8707v this morning.

Spent hours trying to figure it out, but cant.

I have my vodafone sim in it, but thats about as far as i can get!!

How do i set up email???

Cant find any setting entry in "options" or "messages"

When i go to Options >> Advanced options >> Message services, it just takes me to a completely white/blank screen.

How do i set it to vodaphone's internet settings?

Cant even find the browser!!! It's nowhere in the menu!!

This is SO confusing!!

Can anyone lend me a helping hand.

All the manuals, etc. online are ridiculously unhelpful!

Wirelessly posted (off to see the wizard)

Do you have a blackberry data plan?

If not you won't get the browser. Many thing won't be able to be configured without the data plan

You can find many answer at www.blackberryfaq.com

wow, check out the FAQ site, you'll find answers to your questions AND even manuals!

The firewall is under Options > Security.

Good luck.

Have looked all over the FAQ site.

Have got the IT policy removed/unlocked. So can install opera now, but still dotn have the internet settings.

Tried

Vodafone (UK)
APN: wap.vodafone.uk
username: user[at] vodafone.net << cant post @ symbol as i have under 10 posts
password: user
(as stated on a site for blackberry itnernet setup that i found)

But still no luck.

Phoned vodaphone, and they said they cant give me settings for PAYG blackberry vodaphone.

So am i completely screwed?

Probably so.

I have seen Opera Mini take a day or two to work with some carriers. I don't know why, but there have been multiple instances here where it would not work, and a day or three later the user came back and said it just started working out of the blue, sort of like it just needed a day or so for the TCP connection to work itself out.

Who knows. You're in a gample in the first place trying it on PAYG, no data plan , etc.
