Default SMS send crashes

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I'm a noob at forums & BB devices...so bear with me...

bought myself a 8800 unblocked. put in my T-mobile (UK) SIM....everything worked fine except sending SMS (receipt was ok). when i try & send the screen freezes for a few seconds, then goes blank with the red indicator flashing a few times....in effect it switches off. After i re-start & look at the sms i created, it's stuck in pending.

I called T-mobile tech support who said it sounded like a phone issue & to get a replacement. So i returned & got another one...only for it to happen again!

Any tips?
p.s. yes service centre was entered

Same on two devices? Odd, and I bet that is not a device issue.

Do you have SMS provisioned on your account? Sometimes the carrier does screw up account provisioning.

SMS has been functioning on my account from startup...when the original 8800 went back, transferred the SIM to my old phone, where SMS send was working ok...is it worth changing the SIM on the phone with another T-mobile SIM (incase it's a SIM issue)?

It might be worth a shot to try swapping out the SIM, considering it's now happened on two separate devices.
