Default Anyone figured out an easy way to MASS SMS ?

Please Login to Remove!

I havent seem to figure out a way to mass SMS people. I was able to select about 20 names before on my v300 and send them all in one shot. I havent been able to find a way to do this with the 7100. I dont normally mass sms people but there has been occasions where it has come in handy.

For instance trying to tell 10 people your location instead of sending 10 different individual SMS's you send one with everyones number. still counts as 10 SMS's but no need to sit there for minutes trying to do each one.

Default Mass SMS

While not as easy as using a Motorolla, it is possible to repeat a message to many users, using a few clicks of the scroll wheel.

Compose a new SMS to your first recipient.

Before you send it, Select and copy the text. Then select the next recipient and select send sms... then menu select paste... then send...

It sounds humbug... but really it's only about a four click process, and if your agile with your bb, it can be done fairly quickly.

It's the only way I know how.

I believe you have to make a group list in your address book then make sure cell broadcasting service is enabled in the SMS setting.

That doesn't mass sms, it only emails them. You can't even add people to the group unless they have an email address.

You might want to check this software that claims to do SMS broadcasting. Click here.

Sprint-- @messaging.sprintpcs.com (not positive on this one)

Bell Mobility-- @txt.bellmobility.com

Telus-- @msg.telus.com

That seems really dumb to have to call all my friends and ask them their carrier and then make this their default email, but only for sms and not for work email. I have a novel idea. How about give a feature that my nokia had 10 years ago and do group sms. It's not like it's new technology. It's simply a software patch and a major oversight in productivity.

You don't have to make this their default email, you will choose this email address when you create the group list. In fact, there is no default email address, you pick one each time you send an email. Also, if they are in US then you can use @teleflip.com. This way you don't have to call them all and ask for their carrier.

I'm not mad about this feature missing, last thing I need is spam at $00.05 a message.
