Default Unlocking/Pin release

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8700c and I know to unlock it I need to get the unlock code online.

The previous owner of the phone was on Cingular but I need to get this phone working on Tmobile. I've been told the PIN will be registered on Cingular's network and must be released.

How do I get this PIN released? I have no contact with the previous user, nor will I.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Contact T-Mobile first, because they are your carrier.
They may be able to escalate the issue with AT&T.

If that doesn't work, then call AT&T directly and pray for the best.

This worked for me, make sure you have the Blackberry plan in your contract... Log into tmobile.com go to phone options and you can type in the PIN to be activated there. It worked for me. Let me know if it'll work for you...

First, as Penguin stated, he will need to get the PIN released from the previous owners account. TMobile normally can't do that, but my experience has been that IF you ask ATT and explain that you bought it used, they will release the PIN for your use. Ask nicely, they don't have to.

The unlocking is another issue... releasing the PIN doesn't unlock it for activation on TMobile. Get that code cheaply using the BBF discount at

to kick PIN is basically very easy,
but you need 2 BB handset... borrow your friends BB... for 1/2 hour and it's done!
basically, all you have to do is to select 'change your device' your mate BB to your BB PIN& IMEI and then change it back to your device again... all from your friends BB

confusing huh? PM me for more details....
