Charge with out Desktop Manager

Is it possible to charge a 7100t (or 7290 for that matter) from a laptop/desktop without desktopmanager being installed? If so, how?

i dont think so...i tried to just plug my BB with the mini USB cable into my laptop (without desktop manager installed) and it didn't charge at all...can this be done by another means?

It seems to charge on a Mac without anything else installed - but I assume you were interested in a Windows machine! I don't believe you need to install the desktop manager - but you do need the BB USB drivers to be installed.
