Default Caller ID font tiny on 7100t incoming call display

Please Login to Remove!

The caller id font for incoming calls on my 7100t is very small, est. about 4 point. This is not controlled by screen/keyboard font size (currently 9) or browser font size (currently 7).

I cant find a font size selection in the phone app. options menu. Do other people get a tiny incoming number display? Is there any way to change it? Is this a bug in the phone software?

Details: It is the same small size with both themes. Phone is version 3.8.0.112 (platform 1.8.0.83) kernel v. 3.8.0.18. Thanks for any help.

This forum is great!!! So far used it to get ringtones, upload pictures, use phone as modem, and more! :D

Default Figured it out - need newer os upgrade to fix!

So, I am responding to my own post. If you have OS version version 3.8.0.112 (platform 1.8.0.83) kernel v. 3.8.0.18 like I did, you should also have this caller id font bug.

The solution is to upgrade your OS. Follow this link to another post on this forum: http://www.blackberryforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1652

Note that the OS upgrade is to 3.8.0.128, not .142. It is a must-do, however, since it also fixes the speakerphone bug and possibly others. Read the whole thread before installing.

I just upgraded from 4.0 to 4.0.2.032 and had the same problem. Apparently it is not necessary to reload the OS at all. To fix it, I did a hard reset by taking out the battery and the caller ID font is back to normal now. It seems it's a random bug whenever updating OS software. Try the battery thing and please post if it works.

This has just worked for me as well. I wish I had looked here sooner - this was driving me mad (but keeping my optician in business!!)

Cheers Joe

This is one of the problems I was seeing as well that I mentioned in my post! Removing the battery solved the problem!

7100t doesn't work like 7230?

My incoming call font is too big!! I want to make mine smaller. Is this possible? Have a 7105T.
