Asterisks for passwords

Okay, this may be an obvious thing, but I've searched here (and other places) to no avail.

I have web sites where I need a password to get in. When I get to the password prompt, the 7100t shows me asterisks when I type. As a result, I always mistype the password and cannot get in.

Is there a way to disable the asterisks? I tried pasting the password from another screen, but paste does not work. Going to the multitap keyboard function each time I need this is a total frustration.

Anyone know of a way to type passwords in clear text on the 7100t?

Thanks.

Paul

Type them up in the memo pad, then copy&paste.

Toggling multi-tap on/off is easy. Just press and hold the * key for a second.

By default, the password fields should switch to ABC mode. When you type, the character should actually display for a split second before changing to an "*"

At least that's how it works on mine...

I tried the * key idea and it only sorta worked. I need to enter a alpha letter but its not the first letter option that comes up on the screen and you can't scroll and change it. Grr.

If you want to enter the 2nd letter of the key combo, tap that key twice. You WILL see the letter flash quickly before turing to an asterisk. It works for me. Watch the screen and you will see the letter flash as well.

I settled on Abbey's response. It is a pain to have to remember to switch back and forth, but fortunately, most of these sites allow you to remember passwords, so as time goes on it won't be a hassle.

Thanks for all your responses!

Thanks JSanders, that works better for me!
