7100T: PIN Number: I heard someone

can email you from just using your PIN number. Is that true? How does that work. I assume you need to first know that persons PIN number.

Sorry.. I new to this blackberry stuff.

Thanks

Dawg 09-14-2005 03:07 PM

yes the PIN is just like an email address but you can use it in the blackberry messenger also.

lalainohio 09-14-2005 03:12 PM

So I can compose an email and enter a persons PIN number in the email address field and it should go through?

Abbey 09-14-2005 03:15 PM

PIN messages only work between two BlackBerry devices. Sorry for stating the obvious.

lalainohio 09-14-2005 03:17 PM

Gotcha, I did hear that. I looked on the back of my 7100T and didn't see a PIN number. Darn thing has to be somewhere.

Go to Settings>Options>Status and your PIN will magically appear..

Abbey 09-14-2005 03:22 PM

Type mypin in any editor or open Options->Status

lalainohio 09-14-2005 03:28 PM

Thanks! Got it.

Keep in mind Cingular does not yet support PIN messaging nor the messenger - but all the others do at this point as far as I know.

Untrue about the PIN messaging. I use PIN messaging all the time, first with my 7280 and now with my 7100g. When they start supporting Blackberry Messenger, I'll be happier.

ericboo 09-15-2005 04:33 PM

I am waiting for my 7100t to come today. Does it come with Blackberry Messenger pre-installed?

inversed 09-15-2005 04:51 PM

No, it's an add-on.

Edit: Get here http://www.blackberry.com/messenger/entry.do
