Please Login to Remove!

Okay, not sure what went wrong, but am furious. Got the SIM card reader, loaded the software and USB driver, plugged in the reader, and IT WIPED OUT MY SIM CARD!!! Anyone ever have similar problems? As you can Imagine, I am really, really pissed....

Wow ... I can't think of a more unrelated topic to post.

Come on, Penguin. We could come up with way more unrelated posts than that!

Indeed, unrelated. Sorry. I own a 7100g, had to vent, and was curious whether anyone else had tried the stupid device.

I am curious what it does? why would you need a sim card reader?

It is supposed to be able to sync the SIM card contacts with Outlook.

It also was (or at least the ad I read initially said it was) supposed to back up the other information on your SIM card, which could then be copied to a new card. This could be helpful if your card gets damaged or you lose your phone (easier to get back up and running with a replacement without having to wait on the carrier).

I have since been informed that the reader I purchased apparently will not back up the card info, just contacts. Other readers will apparently do both.
