Default 7100t signal drops off going inside

I am in a storng signal area with my new 7100t that I have had for a week. 3 bars at home and 5 at work. When I go inside either place though, it drops down to 1 bar and performance stinks. We did the usual network selection and soft resets but nothing. The unit works great when the signal is there.

My house is a single story 1 family and work in not some big commercial building.

Is this a common problem with the 7100t and should I be looking into returning it? Tmobile issued a trouble ticket and I got an email saying there is going to be a system upgrade in the next 6 months but that is means nothing now.

T Mobile runs off the 1900mhz excusivly. What that means to you is not very good building penetration due to very short waves, while Cingular uses the 850mhz in urban areas (but not all) which allows much stronger building penetration due to longer waves.

Do you understand?

I do. I also tested a Tmobile phone as well and I will just have to try another provider. I guess I have to go back to Nextel.

Hope I get a no hassle refund!
