Question Transferring phone numbers

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to the forum and BB as well. I am trying to transfer phone numbers only (i don't care about addresses, email, etc) to a sony erricson T68i. I was told i could not copy the address book or any info. at all from the BB to the sim card. Is this true? I don't care if the whole address book has to be copied, addresses and all as long as i can at least get the phone numbers. Even if someone knows a way to INDIVIDUALLY copy info/phone numbers from the BB to the sim, it would be helpful. I have no way of connecting the sony to the computer either, except for bluetooth which obviously will not allow data transfer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What i did was i created a separate contact book inside outlook, and then synchronized my handheld to it, and then from there you can do whatever you need, copy, move , save as a csv file for use in excel, etc.

Unless I am misunderstanding you, this is not what i am trying to do. I am assuming what you mean when you say handheld is the BB. I can sync the handheld (BB) with the computer just fine. I am trying to export phone numbers form the BB to the simcard without having to enter them on the sim one by one. Basically, get numbers off of the BB and onto a phone that does not connect to the computer at all, whether that is via sim card or some other method, i don't care. Anyone know if this is possible?

Go into your address book on the handheld, highlight a contact and select view. Wheel down to the phone number, hit the wheel and you will see an option to copy to SIM.

Sucks because you have to do this per name, per phone number, manually.

Good luck!

bjallen2880 - GREATLY appreciated! You are apparently more knowledgeable than the so-called "blackberry specialists" at tmobile. They used the words completely impossible to no avail when i inquired about this. Even though it's tedious, it is not as bad as retyping the name and phone numbers into the sim. Again, thank you.

Is there a way to import contacts from the SIM onto the handheld? The contacts were put on the sim from a different phone and not a BB.

yes. go into address book, click the wheel to bring up the menu. click on sim phone book, near the bottom. this should display all contacts saved on your sim. then click the wheel again and there is an option to "copy all to address book". Not sure just how the formatting will work in the BB, but i am assuming it will copy the number saved for each contact into the home number field. my sim phone book only allows one phone number per entry and i am assuming all sim phone books are the same way.
