Default What carrier does my 7100G belong two

Please Login to Remove!

I just received a 7100G but do not see any way to tell which carrier this is assigned to.
Anyone no a way I can figure out the actual cell carrier the 7100G is with.

Thanks!

Um, just a SWAG, but if you remove the back and take out the battery, is there a SIM card under there?

Nop...that is the problem, I have tried a Cingular SIM just for grins and this does not work.
The SIM slot was empty when I received the phone.
I have tried to look for something online that would decode the IMEI# to see if this would tell me anything but all I have really been able to find out is that the phone was manufactured in Finland.

7100g is Cingular. If a Cingular SIM is not working, then the SIM card is probably not provisioned correctly, or defective.

7100G does not designate Cingular to my understanding...the SIM card is valid and works on all my other Cingular phones....any more thoughts?

If you have a 7100G, it could be from Cellular One, Cincinnati Bell, Cingular, Dobson, or SunCom. If your Cingular SIM doesn't work in it, then it is probably one of the others and the phone is not unlocked.

The question, then, would be, where did you get the phone and why do you not know to what network it is locked?

The 50 million dollar question. I got this through a 3rd party so do not know...did not pay for it so no big deal but I would love to either find out the Cell Phone provider or find something cheaper than a $100 bucks from Bongo.
Jeez, I guess when you are one of the few that offer this than you can charge what you want.

Default SIM Card

I can send you a SunCom SIM card free of charge so you can test to see if it is a SunCom phone. (It will not be active, of course).
Just let me know!

all Dobson Cellular One Phones are unlocked therefore it is most likely not one of those.

Or Cingular Blue. Mine is, and I am using an ATTWS card. Dunno if orange would work too.
