Default Dialing Alpha numbers on the 7100t

Please Login to Remove!

LOOK BELOW

This is a link to howard forums that describes how to dial an alpha number like 1800 gofedex. You just press the alt key and type the name press send and it works wonderfully. The howard forum states it workes on the thumb board blackberries, but I just verified it also works on the 7100t.. I think this is a nice little function.

That's GREAT!!! Thank you. For a moment I thought I had to refer back and forth between my old fone and 7100t

They really need to write a better documentation booklet!

Default Excellent tips

Thanks or displaying the tips. I found a note on the web saying that an ALT+SHIFT+DELETE would reboot but that doesn't work for me.
(slightly different subject)

With a 7100 has anyone run into the problem of dialing in a phone tree (...please enter the first few letters of the person's last name...) to get an extension you really need to remember what number keys to use the NORMAL letters with (example: the 2 key has ABC, the 3 key has DEF, etc.)?

Do I need to spell out the words perfectly? For example, if I want to dial 1-800-GO-FEDEX - how do I get the 'F' to come up.........all I can get is a 'D'?

Do a "double click" on the key. In otherwords, press it twice in rapid succession and you'll get the other letter on that key.

Cheers.

Default 123

There is a "123" in the upper right corner of my screen. I figure this has something to do with an ALT or shift command. HOW DO I GET RID OF THE "123"?

This is the NUMBER LOCK key to allow you to always type numbers without holding the alt key.

You activiate this by holding the # key while typing the ALT key.
It goes away when you retype the ALT key.

You woke up a 14 month old thread to ask this?

Start an e-mail or a memo or something.

Press and hold the "*" key and 123 will go off.

I guess it's the same in a lot of forums, I'm a mod over at newcelica.org and people do the same thing, the oldest we've had brought up was a 2 year old thread asking a basic question with the answer readily available in the owner's manual...
