I got an email today from Blackberry stating that OS 4.5 is available for the 8800.
I check with T-MO and the rep said they could not guarantee that all the function for this software will work on their system.
Of course the rep had no idea when or if T-Mo will release a software update for the 8800 “please check with blackberry for updates”

Well, Duh!! That is what I was calling about.

I went ahead and tried to do the update at Blackberry.com, but after starting the app loader and checking my phone, it said there are no updates available. Maybe because T-MO has not officially loaded the update.

Anyone else had this problem?

I had the same problem and inquired in the thread "Attention: Latest OS: 8800 4.5.0.108/4.5.0.81 (English + East Asian Languages)" cited in the block above the new posts.

There you can find instructions and recommendations concerning the upgrade from several of the gurus on this forum.

As a point of interest, you may wish to note that Rogers of Canada also has the latest OS4.5. You can download it from the BlackBerry web site. Since I don't have any competency in or need for Asian languages, I'm planning to install the Canadian version later today.

We got the same email from RIM so we called our company's TMO rep who said that they would be supporting the new 4.5 OS but he was not sure how soon.

Yea, TMO states it is waiting on RIM, RIM says it is out.
This is just a catch 22. It just keeps going rounf in circles.

TMO doesn't let anyone of the reps (at least that I have spoken to) know what is happening until it is done and maybe not even then
