Unhappy Help!!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, first post!!!

I am working for an IS support department and we have got Blackberry's with some of our users.

I am having a prob with one in particular, when 'permantly' deleting an email from their inbox on their PC, it will not delete off the Blackberry and has to be deleted from it manually, this isnt a problem with other BB's, have I missed something?

Also with the same Blackberry, it will not show contacts that the person has added to the contacts box, just contacts from our global list, but they are all in the same list???

If anyone can help I would be very grateful

Mike

Are you syncing using the desktop manager? If so make sure in the PIM configuration Advance settings you have it set up for notify before deletes and that under conflict settings it has MS Outlook (or whatever is your email choice) wins.

That should fix it if you are lucky.

I have the same issue at my office, BES 4.0. What I find is that the items deleted from Outlook will delete from the handheld but it takes some time. Reconciling does not make the process work any faster. I have no idea why this is the case.

The contact issue is the same. Contacts in the global list are added, updated without issue. Contacts added to the user's contact list can only update via a synchronization with Desktop Manager. Again, more inconvenient than anything.

I know this does not help your problem but know, at least, you are not facing an issue unique to your company.

I think i may have sorted the contacts problem out, the users contacts list was all over the place.

Still having the problem with the messages not deleting from the handheld when deleting messages from the mailbox. Have tried all the options in 'reconciliation settings' but still no go. Its odd because I can delete messages from the handheld and it deletes from the mailbox in Outlook. Anyone have any ideas?

By the way, we use Wireless sync.

Thanx again
