Hi guys,

Very quick question, I've never used maps on a non-gps blackberry..

But on my Bold, before it would catch GPS signal, it would tell me my location within 1600 meters via tower triangulation, and then once it caught GPS signal it was obviously much more precise (within 3-6 meters usually).

Now, I'm gonna pick up a 8700, will it still be able to do that thing within 1600 meteres without GPS, so it shows at least my approximate location, or no?

Yes it should work as you said with google maps. The higher OS the least likely you will have a problem.

Google maps does work on my 8700
