Default 8703 and AIM application

I have an 8703 which is on a BES. My question is, if I install the AIM application, will it show up on the BES that I have that application installed? I do not know if it is against company policy to have that application installed. Or does the AIM application bypass the company BES and just go through the carrier's data services. Thank you in advance for any help regarding this topic.

If your company BES allows user installation of 3rd party apps, then I don't think they are too concerned whether you use AIM. Ours does not allow it. AIM does use data. Why not ask IT first?
